Designer Carissa Wiley made this adorable butterfly canvas home decor piece.  This project is simple and doesn't require a lot of products or too much of your time. You could make it with any nesting die, but Carissa chose the Nesting Butterflies die.  It would look fabulous in any room of your house, but I can only imagine how much a little girl would love to have this displayed in her bedroom! Here is a list of products you'll need:

-Nesting Butterflies die
-Bakers Twine  (finish off the butterflies by adding a simple piece of twine up the middle)
-Cardstock (patterned and solid)
-12x12 canvas (purchase at your local craft store)
-Paint supplies (see below for details)

Carissa was nice enough to give us a quick tutorial on how she achieved the color-washed look you see on the canvas.

"To create the color wash on the Butterfly Canvas, I used the Mister Huey's Color Mists (Heirloom Blue and Dewey).  Instead of spraying the canvas directly, I sprayed each color into a disposable cup and painted them onto the canvas with a foam brush.  My goal was a color washed background with some variation in color.  I set it aside and let it dry.  When it was dry, I misted the color washed background with a  shimmer mist that I created using Champagne shimmer paint (by Stampin' Up) mixed with rubbing alcohol, to give the entire canvas background a soft shimmer.  The alcohol based spray dries quickly and prevents bleeding of the colors already applied to the canvas."
