Design Team Spotlight: Shaunte Wadley

If you've followed QuicKutz/Lifestyle Crafts through the years, you definitely know who Shaunte Wadley is! She's been a designer with us for years and years.  Her projects are always fabulous and inspiring. Check out her spotlight below.

How long have you been paper crafting?

After my first child was born. Like all first-time parents, I took a million craptastic photos of my baby, and needed to do something with them. This was in 1996. All we had available as far as product and tools back then was pinking sheers, Mrs. Grossman's stickers, and Paper Patch paper. Man, those early albums I made are pretty hideous!

2. What are your go-to crafting supplies?

I feel like I would probably get fired if I didn't say "all my Lifestyle Crafts Dies!!" (I really do keep them handy.) My go-to dies, are the small 2x2 tag dies. I use them a ton! My favorite tool is a Quilters Awl. It is like a small ice pick. I use it for everything. To poke holes for brads and eyelets, as a seam ripper when stitching goes bad, and as a self-defense item if I am walking out to my car after a late night crop. Kidding. I have a giant ATG adhesive gun too. I know it is time to clean my studio when the ATG gun gets lost under mounds of crud.

3. What are your go-to Lifestyle Crafts products?

I am a sucker for Alphabets! My favorites are Diesel Grand, Blue Sky (with the shadow) and Oatmeal. I also love the border dies. I love rolling one through my Epic, and being able to cut it apart to make multiple cards. Saves time! And a surprising wild-card for me would have to be the Pizza Box. I swear, I have used that thing a million times for small gifts, gift cards, and treats. I finally broke down and bought another one, because I was afraid I would ruin my original die or lose it. I have hoarding issues.

4. What is one of your favorite projects you've created with LC products

I made a home decor item that actually turned out non-cheesy. I have it hanging in my home, and have gotten a lot of compliments on it. (attached) It was made with a bunch of random flower dies and Core'dinations cardstock.

5. What do you do when you're not crafting?

I have five kids and a husband. I stay pretty busy. ;) We travel a lot (my husband works for an airline) so I am really lucky that way. It provides me with a lot of fresh photos!

6. What are your favorite blogs to read?

I would say I am more of a Pinterest addict.

7. Another fun fact.

Back a few years ago, I was published quite a bit in scrapbooking magazines, and taught classes a lot. I went to a doctor's visit during this time, and was lying down on the examination table. The nurse came in, and tentatively asked me if I scrapbooked. I was quite flattered as I assumed that she recognized me from a publication, or a class. It was then that she told me I had a photo stuck to the bottom of my shoe. I was pretty humbled.

Design Team Spotlight: Kryssi Ng

Today we're spotlighting another new member of our design team, Kryssi Ng.  We're very excited to have Kryssi on the team and love the clean aesthetic that comes across in her projects.  Get to know Kryssi by reading the questions below and check out her blog here.

How long have you been paper crafting?

I started papercrafting in 2008 after attending a little crop hosted by my best friend. At first, I called her a dork -- I teased her about her mountain of papers, buttons, and brads -- but then all of a sudden, I seem to have caught the same bug and even surpassed her! Who's the dork now?

2. What are your go-to crafting supplies?

I have a lot that I keep within reach -- Memento black ink, Honey Bee scissors, Tombow glue, paper trimmer, stack of stamps, basic cardstock, and my dies album.

3. What are your go-to Lifestyle Crafts products?

The nesting dies!! I love how they coordinate so well with other products too -- for example, the Nesting Hearts and the Doily Hearts work perfectly together!

4. What is one of your favorite projects you've created with LC products

My favorite LC project is this one created with the Sweetheart release. I was so happy to dress up the sketchpad giving it a clean texture and new life!

5. What do you do when you're not crafting?

I'm usually hanging out with my kids and trying to maintain a clean and happy family. I'm slowly trying to redo our place without my husband noticing too much, haha -- repurposing and redecorating one little nook at a time!

6. What are your favorite blogs to read?

I don't really read blogs in depth, I'm more of a picture looker. My faves are: Hostess with the Mostess, wedding blogs, and I love the inspiration found right here!!!

7. Another fun fact.

I stole our second bedroom from the kids and transformed it into my crafting studio! Right now, all 4 of us sleep in one big bedroom! I don't think this arrangement will work much longer...!

Design Team Spotlight: Jennie Mcgarvey

Today we're introducing a new member of our design team, Jennie Mcgarvey.  Learn all about Jennie below and check out some of her projects on her blog Scrappy Wife, Happy Life.

1. How long have you been paper crafting?

I started scrapbooking right after the birth of my first son in 2001, though I had been creating scrapbooks since junior high!  There have been periods of time where I haven't created as much as I would have liked but it's going strong for the past couple of years.

2. What are your go-to crafting supplies?

My paper trimmer and tape runner are must haves -- couldn't scrapbook without them!  I also find myself reaching for patterned paper, shipping tags and mist A LOT!

3. What are your go-to Lifestyle Crafts products?

I am absolutely in love with all of the doily dies.  I am a doily lover (which is funny since I only have boys and only scrap the boys!) and Iove using the doily dies for my pages and various cards!

4. What is one of your favorite projects you've created with LC products

I truly love this page. It's so special to me, I love how it turned out and those dies are some of my very favorites!!!

5. What do you do when you're not crafting?

I have been married for 11 years to my husband and I'm a stay at home mom to 3 boys.  I love volunteering at school, shopping and reading, as well!

6. What are your favorite blogs to read?

I absolutely love to read momasteryKelle HamptonStephanie Howell, and of course, the L Blog!

7. Another fun fact.

Since 1998 we've lived in 6 states -- Iowa, Kentucky, Ohio, New Jersey, California and Indiana.  I have 3 boys that were born in 3 different states! (Ohio, New Jersey and California!)

Thanks Jennie! Keep your eye out for Jennie's projects in future releases. Also, stay tuned for when we spotlight our other new design team member, Kryssi Ng.

Design Team Spotlight: Tiffany Hood

Would you like to get to know our design team members?  We'll be spotlighting them throughout the next few months.  First up? Tiffany Hood!  She's fabulous and creates beautiful projects using Lifestyle Craft's product.  Check out her blog here and scroll down to learn more about Tiffany.

1. How long have you been paper crafting?
The first time I ever "scrapbooked" was 15 years ago.  I thought it was so much fun cutting up paper and photos with those decorative edge scissors.  I took a long break through college and started up again a few years ago when I had my first child.  I started "modern" scrapbooking and card making about 5 years ago.  I'd say it's turned into an obsession.

2. What are your go-to crafting supplies?
I love die-cutting tools of course, and the L Letterpress is a fun tool.  I also love my Carl paper trimmer, Crop-A-Dile, iTop brad maker, Scotch pink advanced tape glider, and dimensional foam adhesive.  I like making my projects dimensional.  I also love ribbon and bling- hence the name of my blog.

3. What are your go-to Lifestyle Crafts products?
I really like the L Letterpress.  Once you get the hang of it, it's addictive and my friends are always "wowed" by the professional looking results.  I want to collect all the plates and ink colors.  I also really love the new nesting dies from the Possibilities release.  I can see myself using those on most of my projects.

4. What is one of your favorite projects you've created with LC products?
I'd say my favorite project was the Christmas Advent Calendar.  It was really fun to make, and it's going to be really fun to have and use with my kids on December 1st!  The Be Splendid release was so beautiful and perfect for that project- I can't wait to hang it on my wall. I also love the "Baby Dolls" layout of my cute daughter and her "babies" all lined up in a row.

5. What do you do when you're not crafting?
I have three kids that keep me busy and am also a nurse.  I also love sewing, making home decor items and re-decorating my house, cake decorating, camping, wakeboarding, snowboarding, working out, and cooking.  I try to spend some time in my craft room at least once a day being creative.

6. What are your favorite blogs to read?
I love "The Pioneer Woman" blog.  Lots of good food and photography tips.  I just got a new SLR camera and I want to learn photography.  I also love "Cake Wrecks."  It's great if you have had a hard day and need to laugh.  "Armelle Jewelry" has great ideas for parties.  I mostly read scrapbooking blogs, though.  I like following the blogs of the designers I work with on my design teams, and other scrapbookers that are inspiring, and I read the blogs of all the major paper companies.  I spend way too much time on the computer :)

Thank you for stopping by my blog and for all your nice comments.  Follow me over at Rhinestones and Ribbon so you don't miss out on a minute of the fun!
