Shape 'N Tape

Washi tape is BIG in crafting right now. Decorated with polka dots, chevron stripes, hearts, even underground maps of London, you can get a roll of it in almost any pattern you can imagine.

We love washi tape, but, with a roll that is only one width, it's pretty limited. So, we set out to create a more versatile washi tape that lets you cut into any shape you want.

And, we did it! Meet Shape 'N Tape! It is the very latest from Lifestyle Crafts, and we are very excited to tell you about it! Some of you may have previewed and even played with the Shape 'N Tape that came with the Knotty and Nice Gift Sets or tried the entire Knotty/Nice Shape 'N Tape pack ... but that was just the begining. We now have ten new varieties of Shape 'N Tape color packs, and they all work with any cutting die!

Washi tape that you can cut with dies!?? Yes please!

Each sheet of Shape 'N Tape is 6" x 12" and is the same texture and thickness as traditional washi tape. Shape 'N Tape has an added removable backing to make it easy for you to cut out with any die your heart desires! Shape 'N Tape comes in 10 different color sets with 5 full sheets of Shape 'N Tape in each. Each color has four patterns that are common among all of the colors and one pattern that is unique to its color. In these photos, the unique pattern for that specific color pack is the top sheet.

Designer Nina Yang from Waffle Flower Paper Crafts turned a scrapbook page into a beautiful journal entry. After finding a picture of her young self having fun in her grandma's garden, she created this colorful photo frame and added in a little note about her fond memory into an envelope using Lifestyle Crafts basic envelope set die.

How To Organize Your Craft Supplies

July 12, 2012 10:14:02 AM MDT

We all work more efficiently when we’re organized, and crafting is no exception. Whether you have an entire room dedicated to your DIY craft projects or a corner nook in the basement, there are many ways to keep your crafting supplies organized and accessible - with both function and fashion!

Easy Storage Solutions

Clear plastic storage bins are a great organizing solution. They come in a variety of sizes, and you can easily identify what items are stored inside! A small shelving unit with cubbies will provide several storage areas and doesn’t take up floor space. Woven baskets, canvas containers and wooden crates are a stylish addition and easy to rearrange when needed.  Here is an example of smart craft storage from The Container Store.

Clever and Budget-Friendly Ideas

Peg boards are versatile and a great way to store tools, and you can pick one up for an affordable price at your local home improvement store. Spice jars and plastic medicine containers are perfect for small embellishments like buttons and rivets. You could even use a plastic bath tote to keep your most used supplies tidy and ready to travel with you wherever you go.

How about this smart idea for storing metal dies from Everything Etsy – a Rolodex!

Craft Room Inspiration

Whatever size of space you’re working with, you can customize it to fit your needs. There are resources and inspiration all around you, especially on Pinterest! Use colors and design elements that you already love to inspire your space. Of course, the most creative way to decorate is with your own craft projects!

We love the clean look of this organized craft room by Craftaholics Anonymous.  How could you not find inspiration in a space like this?

You may already have things around your house that will help you organize your space. Be creative! Shop the clearance and dollar areas of your favorite stores for great deals on baskets, containers and other items. There is no right or wrong way to store your ‘stuff. ’ Just have fun!

Do you have a unique idea for craft storage? We'd love to hear about it!
