A Butterfly Birthday Party by Kami Bigler

February 21, 2012 9:36:13 AM MST

Using the Nesting Butterflies die as her staple, designer Kami Bigler pulled off a fabulous butterfly-themed party for her daughter! Let's start off with the decorative cake she displayed.   Using the Pennant Punches die, she cut out all of the flags in just 2 runs through her die-cutting machine.  The punches dies are a perfect and time-efficient way to make a garland! Then, she added the grass using an older die and accented with the butterfly from the Pop-up Box die and the Nesting Butterflies die.  The alphabet she used is Sketchbook Mini Alphabet die. Any of the 4x4 alphabets would work perfectly.

Here is a collage (all of these images are via Kami) of some of the fabulous details.  For more photos and a detailed description on how she put it all together, visit her blog, No Biggie.

If you're wondering which dies she used to make each element, here are the details:

Butterfly Box Favors: Pop-up Box die, Banners & Arrows die

Invitations: Lemon Drop Alphabet dieButterfly die

Cupcakes: Nesting Butterflies die

Butterfly Wand: Nesting Butterflies die

Cake: Pennant Punches die, Sketchbook Mini Alphabet die, Pop-up Box die

Thanks for letting us share your fabulous party, Kami!

DIY Silhouette Valentines by Kami Bigler

February 8, 2012 9:08:34 AM MST

Design team member Kami Bigler of No Biggie posted a great idea for Valentine's Day and I couldn't help but share it with all of you.  I'm sure these treat boxes were a hit at school!  First, she photographed her kids in the pose she wanted for the silhouette.   After printing/cutting, she used the Rectangle Box die and the Clear Plastic Sheets media, she made adorable treat-filled boxes for her kids to hand out.  Read about her process here and check out the video below.

Using her digital cutting tool, she cut the silhouettes in a large size and mounted them in these vintage thrifted frames!  Great decor for the home and these could easily be personalized for any holiday!

Thanks for the great idea Kami!
